1900
Founded in Thuringia
Master carpenter Carl-Friedrich Krause founds C. Krause in Thuringia – the first wood products factory of its kind in Germany, specialising in ladders and household equipment.

1924
Production in Alsfeld
After the First World War, the young company relocates its headquarters to Hesse. Since 1924, it has been manufacturing in Alsfeld.

1947
The first office furniture
At a time of new beginnings, the company repositions itself and starts producing office furniture.

1970s
A complete office system
By the end of the 1970s, this has grown into a comprehensive office furnishing system, and a modern production facility of over 30,000 m² is built.

First with ISO 9001
CEKA becomes the first office furniture manufacturer to be certified to DIN EN ISO 9001 for its quality assurance system.

2000
100 years
Under the leadership of Ernst Walter and Margot Krause, the family business has become one of Europe's leading office furniture manufacturers – and celebrates its centenary.

2012
Investing in production
The fourth generation of the Krause family finds an investor in Joachim Fleischer. New wood production, a carcass assembly line and an energy-efficient machining centre follow, and the building is renovated for energy efficiency.

A new beginning
After a period of economic challenges, CEKA has found a strong new investor. As CEKA PRO GmbH, a wholly owned subsidiary of .mdd, we are making a fresh start – stable, future-oriented and determined to continue our success story.
